Unit Manager- ADON - Assistant Director of Nursing

Longmont, CO

We are seeking a professional and customer service oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Registered Nurse (RN) to join our management team for our skilled nursing community. This position reports to the Director of Nursing (DON) and will partner closely with the management team to lead our direct care team.

The ADON coaches, directs, and monitors the quality of care and the quality of life of the residents. The ADON acts as a direct supervisor to the self-managed work team and are responsible for evaluating the outcomes of their work, both individually and as a team. The ADON helps oversee compliance, competence, and operational issues.

Built in 2019, our Green Houses are small homes that provide long term care services for up to 12 residents per home (4 homes/48 residents). A great ratio to provide quality care!

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative
  • Understand and adhere to Resident Confidentiality and HIPPA regulations.
  • Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Nurses and CNAs
  • Monitor clinical care and status of residents, at least daily.
  • Interact with Residents to determine their level of satisfaction.
  • Partner with DON and ADON on infection control procedures and compliance.
  • Work closely with Guides, maintaining a supportive relationship that ensures positive clinical outcomes.
  • Communicate with families on a regular basis to determine their level of satisfaction.

Must be able to:

  • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
  • Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community Electronic Health Record software.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures.
  • Solve basic mathematic procedures.

  • Communicate with residents in a respectful manner.
  • Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.
  • Able to lift up to 45 lbs floor to waist; lift up to 10 lbs waist to shoulder; lift and carry up to 45 lbs and push/pull up to 45 lbs utilizing appropriate safety equipment for assistance as needed.
  • Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

  • Requirements:
  • Prior Experience in an Assistant Manager of Nursing role preferred.
  • Valid nursing license (RN or higher)
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (Master's degree preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals
  • CPR certification which must remain current during employment
  • First aid certification from a nationally recognized organization preferred
